We have decided to have a break from the studio to play a one off gig at the Twin Pines in Paihia on the 30th of Dec with support from Five Star Fallout.
We have been working on our 2nd album for most of the year and its finally nearly finished. However the studio is making us a little crazy and so when this gig came along we thought we'd take the chance to get back on stage, play you some new songs and have some fun!
Its gonna be an awesome night so if you're up there for New Years make sure you get there a day early to come see Stylus too, or else just mission up for the night cause its the only chance you're gonna get to see us before our album is finished and we start touring again in March/April 2006....

We have a couple of gigs coming up. This Saturday we are in Wellington at Valve, its been a long time since we were there last and we've got lots of new songs to play you so come down and check it out.

The first gig is at the Cue Bar in Hamilton this Thursday, with Chuganaut. Cue bar is the only bar in Hamilton open after midnight because of Good Friday so its going to be a huge night.

Well that's it, the tour is all over. Huge thanks to all the people who came to the shows and all the bands we played with. We wont be playing much over the next few months while we write new songs for our next album. There is a new video coming out soon for the song Incredible to keep you going until we get back on the road again, you should be able to catch it on C4 & Juice in a few weeks.

The tour starts this week with a couple of gigs in Auckland. Thursday at the London Shed in Pakuranga with Down2one & Angelsound and Friday at the Masonic Tavern in Devonport with Down2one & Epitome. Both gigs are $10 and start at 8:30pm.
Also we are playing a free all ages gig at the Auckland Uni Quad at 11:30am tomorrow. This will be the first gig with our new guitarist Aja Timu.

Longtime Stylus guitarist Kenny Holt is departing the ranks. He has been playing in Stylus since 1998, and is leaving to pursue other non-music related interests. Aja Timu, who has played in Auckland bands 'State Of It', 'Die Madison' and 'We Dunno' will be stepping in on guitar duties and will be performing with the band on the upcoming nationwide tour. The band would like to wish Kenny all the best for the future.

STYLUS have recently signed a deal with Wildside Records, the debut long-player should be hitting shelves in NZ later in the year. The album will be Produced and Engineered by STYLUS' own Paul Matthews and Dave Rhodes, who collectively have worked with some of New Zealand’s top acts, including Pluto, Crumb, Dub Asylum, Foamy Ed, Tadpole and the No.1, Platinum selling "Blindspott" album.
STYLUS will be on tour throughout the North Island in March and April.

You wont be able to see STYLUS live for a while. We are getting stuck into the studio to record a second single. We spent last Saturday at Helen Young Studios tracking drums and vocals and filming for the video which will accompany the song. We also filmed the Oracle gig and various other performances, so if you were up the front or surfing the crowd you may just find yourself in our next video!

Thursday 29th - Classic Session at the Classic Comedy Bar with MAMA SAID
Saturday 31st - HUGE all-ages gig at the Oracle (Powerstation) with STERIOGRAM, WASH and some rock quest bands.

You can now download the 'Everywhere' video in Quicktime format from our Audio page. Sorry about the size (11MB), for best results download it to your Hard Disc before trying to play it. If you want to see a good quality version you'll have to vote for the video on M2 or request it on Most Wanted. To vote for the M2 top 12 go to www.music2.tv, log in and vote. To request Everywhere on Most Wanted just email mostwanted@tv4.co.nz with your request.
Look out for STYLUS on the Colman Sessions on ChannelZ in a couple of weeks. I'll tell you exactly when its going to air as soon as we know.

The 'Everywhere' video is finished! We are having a party with the cast and crew to celebrate on Saturday at Bar-Baric in Hight St. Everyone is welcome. We will be playing the video on a big screen for all to see, and of course rockin' the party on stage!

Hamilton you ROCK! The Mount too, but not quite as hard as all the people that came to Altitude on Friday night. Cheers to Stadium & Stardrunk, you guys kick ass! Photos will be on the site as soon as possible.
We are planning a proper tour of the whole country in October, as soon as we have dates, you'll see them here first.

Last night's Kings Arms gig went really well, now that I've seen Stardrunk and Stadium for myself I can tell you that the next two gigs in Hamilton and at The Mount are definately going to go off!! Just so you know, the show at Altitude tonite has to be finished by midnight, so come early. See you there.

The Video for EVERYWHERE is in the final stages of production, it might even be on m2 by this weekend, if you're lucky.

Apologies to anyone who tried to come to the gig at Bar-Baric, as you would have found out the bar was closed due to circumstances beyond our control. We are in the process of organizing another gig there at a later date.
The other bad news is that Carter from Crumb has Laryngitis, so they wont be playing with us on Thursday. There will still be another band but you'll have to come to the gig to find out who it will be.
We are going into the studio soon to start recording another single. At the moment we are undecided about which song to record, it will probably be one of the songs in the demo audio section. Email us from the contact link and tell us what your favorite is.

STYLUS are playing a last minute gig at Bar-Baric on High St this Friday night. Its a small bar so it'll be a nice intimate show, come and say hi, we'd love to see you there. 'Everywhere' was number 11 on the Channel Z top 20 last night. Keep those votes comming in! The First two days of shooting for the "Everywhere" video went really well last weekend, thanks to all the people involved. There will be one more days filming on Sunday and then its into postpoduction.

By now all the radio stations in the country should have a copy of "Everywhere" If you want to hear it on your favourite station, ring them and request the song. You can also ring Channel Z and vote for "Everywhere" on their top 20.

The tour dates have been updated with a few changes. More dates comming soon. Shooting starts this weekend for the EVERYWHERE video. It should be on your screens by the end of the month.

Tune in tonight for the radio debut of "EVERYWHERE" with Bomber and Clark. Kenny and I will be on air from 8. Matt was gonna do it with me, but in true rock fashion he is still in Hospital.
